We build our own tools.
There's a lot of great SEO tools out there, and we use a lot of them. However, we've built our own tools that help us do SEO a lot easier, ultimately helping our clients generate more business.
Most of it's pretty advanced; however, we've included a few free SEO tools that you can have a play with below.
A few you can play with.
Most of what we build takes real experience to drive, so rather than drop all of it on you at once, we've rebuilt a few of our simpler checks to run right here in your browser. Have a play, starting with the big one below.
When you want to see the heavier tooling we run behind the scenes, jump to what we've built ↓.
Free GBP audit
Want to see what's holding your Google Business Profile back? We've built a free tool where you can get an idea of where you are ranked, but most importantly, what it takes to go from where you are to where you want to be on your GBP.
Run a free GBP auditNot a lead magnet. The audit runs, you see the result, we don't chase you.
Local SERP check
A problem with being a remote company is that we're not in your location, so we built a tool so that we can see the search results wherever you are. Our internal tool is far more robust, but have a play with this.
Why we use it: rankings change street by street, so the only honest check is from the customer's postcode, not a rank tracker's data centre.
Run it in a private window. An active Google session can override the location.
Snippet previewer
Type your title and meta description, and watch Google truncate them in real time. Measured in pixels, the way Google actually cuts.
Why we use it: Google cuts titles at about 580 pixels, not characters. A truncated title loses its click, so we pixel-check every title we ship.
LocalBusiness schema generator
Fill in your business details, get valid JSON-LD to paste into your page head. The markup Google reads to connect your site to your map listing.
Why we use it: missing markup is a map-pack signal left on the table. We ship it on every site we build.
This is a simplified version to show the idea. Full markup also covers opening hours, geo-coordinates, services and reviews, so treat this as a starting point, not the finished schema.
Citation quick-check
The directories that matter for local rankings. One click each: see whether your business is listed, and whether the details match.
Why we check it: mismatched details across directories quietly erode Google's trust in your listing. Our internal version watches around forty directories automatically. This is the by-hand edition.
Good for us. Better for you.
Everything we build is because there isn't a suitable tool on the market that does it at the level we need it. Everything we build is to empower us to drive more potential customers to your business.
Automatic alerts on movements and changes
Nothing slips past. When rankings move or something on your site changes, we know straight away, and because the analysis is already done, what matters to your business is always the priority. No opportunity goes unexplored.
Senior people, on senior work
A big part of SEO work is laborious, and we've built tools to help with our time so we can work on the important things and allow senior people to work on senior things.
Scalability
These tools allow us to scale your business by making sure the important things are being worked on.
What we've built in-house.
The list below is far from a complete list, but just to give you an idea of some of the things that we have built internally, we've compiled a list of the tools we use every day internally at Arken Digital. The big one is the client reporting platform. Now, there are hundreds of reporting platforms out there, so why would we build our own?
The reason is to get you all the data you need in one place. You don't need to understand Google Analytics or navigate our platform to see whether the work we are doing is having an impact.
Client reporting platform
Agency reporting usually means a Data Studio dashboard or a long PDF nobody reads.
One live dashboard for the numbers you actually care about: enquiries and when they came in, rankings, and traffic. Interactive, not exported.
Log in any time. The same numbers we look at, down to the individual enquiry.
The demo on the right is clickable →
Demo data. The real thing runs on your numbers.
Citation manager
Most agencies outsource citations to a tired third-party tool that counts listings instead of checking them.
Watches around forty directories, keeps your name, address and phone consistent, and ties citation health to map-pack movement.
Local SERP tooling
Rank trackers average a whole country. Your customers search from a postcode.
Checks Google exactly as it appears from any location on earth, so rank checks match what customers actually see.
Information gain analysis
The pages that win don't just match the query, they add something the others missed. Heading-level tools can't see that.
Reads what every competitor on the SERP actually covers, not just their headings, and finds the angles, sub-topics and questions they leave out.
Pages that say more than the ones above them, not the same thing reworded.
Keyword clustering
SEO stopped being one keyword per page a long time ago. Topics win, single terms don't.
Groups related searches into topic clusters and maps each cluster to a single page, using your Search Console data to stop two pages competing for the same term.
Full topic coverage, with cannibalisation kept to a minimum.
Content decay tracking
Total traffic can climb while the pages that actually convert quietly slide. The headline number hides it.
Watches every page on its own and flags the ones losing ground, so a decline is caught early, especially on the pages that bring in enquiries.
The pages that convert stay at the front, not buried under a rising average.
Click-through rate analysis
Position two with a weak title can lose to position four. Rank isn't the whole story.
Checks the real click-through rate on every important page against the expected rate for its position, and flags the ones falling short.
Titles and snippets that earn the clicks your ranking deserves.
Local PR analysis
The links that move local rankings come from local press, and those relationships take constant watching.
Continuously analyses your local press and the editors that matter, surfacing genuine openings for unique, locally relevant coverage.
Unique links from locally relevant press, not directory filler.
GBP management stack
Running a Google Business Profile properly means five tabs and a separate rank tracker. We put it in one.
Schedules posts, handles review responses, and runs our own geo-grid ranking system, all from a single tool.
A Google Business Profile that's actively managed, not left to sit.
Automatic technical checks
The basics of technical SEO are table stakes. A contact form silently going down costs real enquiries.
Constantly tests the pages and conversion paths that matter, so if a form or a key page breaks it's flagged and fixed, usually before you notice.
The paths that turn visits into enquiries stay up, watched around the clock.
Decisions by people.
We use AI in our workflow, but no decision is ever made by AI. We know, having spoken to a lot of businesses, how worried they are about the impacts of AI and the impacts of the service they are getting from suppliers because of AI. We use it, but we use it the right way, so we have created a page completely dedicated to how we use AI and the ways in which AI is transforming our industry.

We are not a software service. All of these tools are internal, and no agency should build every tool that they use. Alongside the tools we built, here are some of the tools we use.
